Cybernated art is very important, but art for cybernated life is more important, and the latter need not be cybernated. - Nam June Paik

DESTROYED MEANING

Technology and it's culture flows all around us, and is embedded into our everyday lives. Breaking the flow allows us to ask questions about its meaning and how we exist in it. It is the glitch that breaks the flow. Rosa Menkman experiences glitch "as a wonderful interruption that shifts an object away from its ordinary form and discourse, towards the ruins of destroyed meaning."

Contemplate how you and others exist within a digital realm. How do you interact with others in this realm? How does communication take place? Once you have discovered digital discourses that you find significant, I want you to think of why interrupting those discourses would change the conversation. This should play its way out into either a visual or audible digital file that should be posted to the blog for further discourse by Sept. 17th.
